Marco Chiazzolino - Tensione

Biography
I am an Italian sculptor active since 2018. My work arises from research into the balance between geometric form and natural material. I mainly use marble and stone, worked through traditional techniques reinterpreted in a contemporary key.
My production explores the dialogue between tension and stability, strength and precision, creating essential works yet full of meaning. In recent years I have extended my research to design and to interior accessories, always keeping the relationship between material and gesture at the center.
Description of the work
This sculpture is composed of two distinct yet perfectly integrated elements.
The base is made of absolute black marble, with a textured (bocciardata) and antiqued finish, which enhances its materiality and primordial character. The irregular surface captures light in a vibrant way, returning depth and solidity.
The nail, carved in Verde Guatemala marble and polished, fits perfectly into the base’s hole. The element is completely removable: the work thus lives in a studied balance, where technical precision and visual tension dialogue with each other.
The contrast between the rough surface of the base and the shine of the nail creates a strong duality between force and control, impact and harmony. The perfect interlock represents not only a physical gesture, but a concept of connection, choice and direction.
A work that unites geometric rigor and symbolic power, conceived for contemporary spaces and collectors attentive to material research.
