Description from the seller

Paolo Contin
Dream
Mixed media - Hand-signed - 2025
Original sculpture sold directly by the artist.
Numbered certificate of authenticity on the back of the artwork, with date and authentic signature - Contemporary art bas-reliefs/sculptures/artworks
We do not accept shipments to countries outside the European Community due to excessive bureaucratic problems and high shipping costs.

The black fragments, intertwined and overlapping triangles across three layers, create a world immersed in night that expresses all its mystery with its dreams ( dreams).

In this work, the Artist recycles wooden boards cut into triangles of various sizes, glued onto a wooden base, then painted with watercolors/acrylics. The frame as well was salvaged from forgotten works.
Each triangle has been cut , composed, applied and painted one by one by the artist's hands, for which there may be small perceptible imperfections due to the cutting and the painting, but this makes the artwork even more important because forgotten materials have become essential for the creation of an artistic work of which they are part..
In this work, originality and creativity should be rewarded, not quality. Because if nobler and more perfect materials had been used, such as precious wood or marble or Plexiglas, there would be no imperfections, but it would all cost several thousand euros, especially with gallery owners and/or retailers; instead the artist is content with very little (reserve price of 200 euros) because what matters is to give everyone the possibility to love art. This work will look good in any place it is hung.

Paolo Contin has a long artistic career. He trained in the world of design and has been working in the fields of fashion and art since 1980. In 1999, he began exhibiting his works; in 2002, he held his first solo exhibition in Padua, followed by many shows in Italy and abroad, including Copenhagen, Munich, Brussels, Paris, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
