Oil on canvas titled Mar adentro by Alejandro Carballosa, an original contemporary multicolor work (46 × 57 cm, 2026) signed by hand and sold directly by the artist, depicting a marine landscape with a submerged figure.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 46 x 57 cm
Description
Contemporary figurative painting that captures the suspended moment between the surface and depth. The male figure moves forward underwater in a fluid and restrained gesture, while the waterline divides the pictorial space into two realities: the exterior world and the underwater silence.
The treatment of the blue color, worked in multiple shades and visible brushstrokes, conveys movement, density and depth, reinforcing the sense of immersion. The light filtered through the water subtly shapes the body, creating a dialogue between strength and calm, control and surrender.
The work proposes a symbolic reading of the act of swimming as a metaphor for introspection, transition, and inner balance. The sea does not appear as a landscape, but as an emotional space, where the body adapts and dissolves into the surroundings.
A work with strong visual presence, ideal for collectors of contemporary painting interested in figuration, movement, and the relationship between humans and water.
Only an authentication certificate will be issued if the artwork's sale price exceeds 500 euros.
