Frans van Genesen was a Dutch painter, born in Tilburg (the Netherlands) in 1887 and died in Laeken (Belgium) in 1961.
He pursued his training in painting in The Hague and at the Academy in Amsterdam.
In 1911 he completed his studies at the Academy in Paris.
He painted (Bruges) cityscapes, farmstead scenes, and landscapes from Flanders and the Ardennes. He owned small galleries in Blankenberge and Spa to show his works to the public. He realized several saints’ portraits for the church of the Servite Fathers in Spa.
He is also listed in Two Centuries of Signatures by Belgian Artists.
