Title: "Sails in Color"
Description
This work is a vibrant example of spatula-driven, textural painting. It features a bold and dynamic use of color. The scene depicts a fleet of sailboats gliding across the water, but the real protagonist is the movement of the painting itself.
Impasto Technique: The artist has used thick layers of color applied with a spatula, creating a three-dimensional texture that catches the light and gives a sense of tactile energy to the composition.
Chromatic Contrast: The canvas is divided vertically by a sharp chromatic transition: warm tones of orange, yellow, and red on the left fade into a deep, cool blue on the right, suggesting the passage from sunset light to shadow or the meeting of different atmospheric currents.
Figurative Abstraction: Although the subject of the boats is clearly recognizable, the shapes are simplified into stylized sails, making the work a perfect balance between realism and abstraction.
