GINI MARTA develops a painting practice centered on acrylic, which she uses as a direct, straightforward and structuring medium. Her work is part of a contemporary pop approach, nourished by domestic imagery and popular visual culture, which she transforms into painted, frontal and autonomous images.

Their works stage iconic objects, isolated and enlarged, treated as strong graphic shapes. Painting is built up in successive flat color fields, with defined contours and repetitive motifs, notably the grid, which plays a central role in organizing space. This regular structure interacts with the hand, revealing the vibrations of the gesture, the slight irregularities, and the materiality of the surface.

GINI MARTA claims a painting that is entirely handmade, with no recourse to printing or digital technology. The color, deliberately embraced, functions as an emotional language: vivid, contrasted, sometimes soft, sometimes sharp. Flatness is asserted, volume suggested without illusionism, in a painting-object logic.

Presented in collective and solo exhibitions within independent spaces and contemporary art venues, his work interrogates the place of the popular image in our daily life and its capacity to become painting. Between familiarity and estrangement, his canvases offer a pictorial rereading of ordinary forms, transformed into strong visual surfaces, at once accessible and rigorous.
