Between the Lines of the Sky

I have painted what I can't always say.
My head wanders among light clouds and suspended thoughts, while the body stays anchored to the ground, quiet but vigilant.
It is a self-portrait of the soul, where the contours blur and identity becomes a symbol.
Every element is a choice: the scarf in my hair, the book I hold tight, the solitary tree on the horizon…
Parts of me that resist, that observe in silence, that remember how important it is to stay true to who you are, even when you are invisible.
I paint to find myself. And perhaps also to disappear a little.

"BETWEEN THE LINES OF THE SKY" is painted with a mixed technique, acrylic painting and paper on panel. I created a base collage on the support by layering many pieces of newspaper glued with water-based paint.
This makes the surface tactile and imperfect. Subsequently I painted the subject with acrylics and used a clear glossy protective varnish.

Chiara Napolitano was born in 1986 in Carpi. From an early age, she showed a natural talent for drawing, graduating from the A. Venturi art institute in Modena and later starting to make a name for herself by selling pop art copies at art and craft markets.
Meanwhile, his artistic exploration evolved, establishing a personal and authentic style. Women with melancholic gazes, dripping paint, and rippling scraps of paper, creating a deliberately imperfect scene, are all recognizable elements that have helped define his identity and artistic sensibility over time.
The artist uses these women to express his moods.
Every face, every gesture tells a unique story.

they bring to the surface the textures of the soul, that complex and restless set of emotions, inner urges and ambitions common to all of us.
