Description from the seller
Antique Swiss Silver Pocket Watch – 10‑Jewel Cylinder – Key Wind/Key Set – ca. 1885–1900 – 0.800 Silver (Grouse Hallmark) - Functional
Description
Elegant late‑19th‑century Swiss pocket watch in a solid 0.800 silver case, hallmarked with the Swiss grouse (used 1882–1934). The case is signed with ornate “LH” initials, attributed to the Huguenin family of case makers from Le Locle, known for their fine silver work during this period.
The case back features a beautifully executed central shield surrounded by floral/plant engraving rising from the lower left toward the upper center — a classic decorative style of Swiss export watches from the late 1800s.
Inside ticks a 10‑jewel cylinder movement, key‑wind and key‑set, with individually cut gears typical of traditional Swiss craftsmanship. These movements were produced with care and precision, offering a charming glimpse into pre‑industrial watchmaking.
