DESCRIPTION OF THE LOT

Up for auction is the coveted fascicle no. 5 of the prestigious magazine "La Guirlande: Album d'art et de littérature", published in Paris in 1920. It is one of the finest examples of Art Deco-era art publishing.
Main Features
Artists: include the famous illustration by George Barbier (signed and dated G.B. 1920) and splendid plates by Umberto Brunelleschi (art director of the issue).
Technique: Illustrations created with the refined Pochoir technique (manual coloring via stencil), using metallic pigments (gold and silver) that are still brilliant.
Rarity: numbered copy 450 in a limited edition of 800.
Content: Texts by René Boylesve and orientalist poetry by Jean Hermanovits, enriched with friezes and exotic calligraphy.
Conditions:
The internal contents are excellent, with saturated and vivid colors. It is noted that the original binding (cover) is missing or replaced by a plain protective cover. There are slight, normal foxing on the margins of the paper, which do not affect the illustrated part of the plates. Internal pages are intact.
