Contextual note

Heart of Beech is part of Natali Wood's work around wood, fire, and slow processes. Beech, a familiar and everyday timber, is transformed here into a matrix through Yakisugi, incorporating time and the burn imprint of fire into the engraving process itself. Each piece preserves slight variations that are part of its artisanal character.
