Description from the seller
Elegant pair of wall mirrors in carved and gilded wood, Roman production from the mid-20th century, as attested by the back stamp “A. FECI – ROMA – MADE IN ITALY”.
The frames are crafted in a refined Rococo Revival style, featuring lively, sinuous lines, rich side volutes, a finely molded apex shell, and a lower ornamental motif with a double decorative element.
The surfaces exhibit a warm gilding with a natural patina of aging, while the central parts show a green marble-like finish that creates an elegant color contrast.
The pair comes across as harmonious and dramatic, ideal for entryways, bedrooms, or classic and eclectic environments.
Technical note
At the bottom there is a rear hole for possible electrification, probably made afterward for the installation of a small wall light (sconce). This intervention does not compromise the structural stability.
Condition
Good overall condition
• Normal signs of aging and slight wear to the gilding
• Intact mirrors
• Original back with manufacturer’s logo
Italian production, Rome, circa 1950–1970.
