Description from the seller
Paleohunter II, acrylic on canvas, 70 x 50 x 1.5 cm.
Freeon's Piece 15, already mounted on a stretcher frame, embodies the primal tension between instinct and consciousness. The totemic figure holds a bow and a tool in a suspended gesture, as if hunting something more than matter: ancestral memory. The ochre-reddish background evokes a contemporary cave-wall, filled with signs and graffiti that dialogue with neo-expressionism. The bold linework and fragmented planes build a hybrid character, half symbol, half inner warrior. There is rawness, but also irony and reflection on the human condition. The vertical composition enhances its presence and turns the piece into a modern icon of the archaic, where past and present fuse in pictorial energy.
I am a self-taught Spanish visual artist, based in Alicante, who develops a personal language within rupestrian-rooted neo-expressionism. My work arises from absolute creative freedom and a visceral need to express myself.
I work from intuition and the energy of the moment, in an environment where chill-out music helps me enter into an almost ritual state. From there, my new figures emerge: symbolic beings, primitive and contemporary at once, that seem to come from an ancient civilization but speak from the present.
Rock art is not a mere aesthetic reference for me but an active memory. Its essential strokes, its graphic power, and its symbolic character become a renewed language, charged with emotion, color, and expressionist tension. I create figures that reinterpret the primitive from a contemporary viewpoint, forging a bridge between the ancestral and the futuristic.
I am continually evolving, exploring techniques, materials, and narratives that expand my visual universe. Each work is an inner excavation and, at the same time, an invention: new characters, new symbols, and new mythologies that expand my creative world.
