Description from the seller
KOI STORIES 1
Original painting, part of a series about the tranquil life in ponds, small pools of water with plants, water lilies, fish and other creatures. Work painted in oil on raw linen with a transparent ground.
Red fish and the koi carp I paint float lightly with their sinuous and elegant movements. The fish, as a universal archetypal element, as a bridge between diverse worlds, as an expression of life's flow. Fast and fleeting as clouds and thoughts, they embody the delicate balance between serenity and the impulse of life. The pond water is only suggested.
I am interested in the boundary between the real world and the surreal world of my ever-changing aquatic landscapes. www.valeriapesce.com

About Me
Born in Italy, on the island of Sardinia, in 1963, after a spell in New York to study graphic design and then two years in Milan, I moved to Barcelona in 1991 to work as a graphic designer, and here I began my artistic career, which over time has become my profession, my passion, and above all a vital necessity.
I have held solo and group exhibitions in various European cities, and my works are part of private collections around the world.
My work is deeply rooted in nature and human emotions; my main theme is water and fish, two visual universes that share symbolic intensity. The fascination with the fluidity and dynamism of water acts as a guiding thread in my creations and symbolizes constant transformation.
