Seller's Story

Biography My name is Thomas The Rambl3r, a visual artist born and based near Bruges, Belgium. Working across digital, print, and object-based formats, the practice explores duality, symbolic expression, and the shifting boundary between solitude and dialogue. Two voices. One artist. My practice exists in two distinct modes of expression that form a single, continuous investigation. ⸻ Thomas — Reflection The quiet voice. This work centers on restraint, symbolism, and internal space. Compositions are minimal, deliberate, and contemplative. They emerge from stillness and ask to be lived with over time rather than immediately understood. ⸻ Rambl3r — Rebellion The outward voice. This work responds directly to culture, tension, humor, and critique. It uses bold graphic language and immediacy. Where Thomas observes quietly, Rambl3r interrupts, challenges, and provokes. ⸻ One Practice These are not separate identities. They are two perspectives of the same mind—reflection and reaction, stability and disruption, silence and commentary. Both are necessary. Both are true. ⸻ My Story My path into art began unexpectedly, not as a career choice but as a necessity. About seven years ago, following psychotic episodes triggered by cannabis abuse — which evolved into panic disorder, anxiety, and eventually social anxiety — I was encouraged through behavioral therapy to find a creative outlet. I started drawing on an iPad in coffee shops and public spaces, slowly rebuilding a sense of connection, confidence, and purpose. What began as therapy steadily became expression — a way of thinking, observing, and eventually, speaking. My background in social work and orthopedagogy shaped my lens. Much of my work expresses the quiet experience of those who feel unseen — mental health, isolation, resilience, subtle human tension. At the same time, I balance that weight with irony, humor, and lighthearted absurdity. Each work, whether signed as Thomas or Rambl3r, is grounded in a moment of genuine emotional clarity — sometimes calm, sometimes restless. Today, I focus on one-of-one original works — visual statements that exist between introspection and interruption. My goal is not to decorate but to communicate — with honesty, clarity, and presence. This is where reflection meets rebellion. This is where I find balance.
