Description from the seller

Elegant sculpture depicting Dionysus, the Greek deity of wine, vitality and ecstasy, represented as a young, harmonious and contemplative youth.
The work is cast in solid bronze, with a substantial weight of 11 kg, an element that confirms its solidity and material quality. The surface presents a natural green patina due to copper oxidation over time, uniform and coherent with authentic conservation.
The figure is modeled with a classic-neoclassical taste, with particular attention to anatomical details, the curls of the hair, and the soft rendering of surfaces. The elegant, slightly inclined posture recalls the traditional iconography of the Greco-Roman gods.
Features:
Subject: Dionysus (Bacchus)
Material: Bronze
Weight: 11 kg
Base: Integrated circular
Patina: Natural, not restored
State of conservation: Good general condition, with normal signs of aging consistent with the age.
The iconography and formal language suggest a production probably late 19th century or early 20th century (neoclassical style). It remains unsigned, a common feature in workshop works or European artisanal foundries of the late 1800s/early 1900s.
