Slava (Split-Second) Rattrapante Chronograph - 30 Seconds - USSR - 1980s
Up for auction an fascinating professional mechanical chronometer produced by the Second Moscow Watch Factory (Slava) in the Soviet Union in the 1980s.
This model is the Rattrapante (Split-Second) version, much rarer and more complex than standard chronometers. Thanks to the two central hands and the third pushbutton, it allows timing intermediate times or two events that start simultaneously but finish at different moments.
Technical Features:
Brand: Slava (Cлава)
Origin: USSR (inscription "Сделано в СССР" on the dial)
Movement: Manual-wind mechanical, high-precision Slava caliber 54950 with 20 jewels.
Dial: Silvered with sunburst finish, main scale of 30 seconds (high precision to 1/10 of a second) and 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock.
Case: Large-diameter chrome-plated brass case (about 65 mm excluding crown).
Operation: The central push starts/stops, the right one resets, the left handles the split function (rattrapante).
Condition:
The item presents in excellent cosmetic condition, with minimal signs of age in line with its age. The plexiglass crystal is clean and the case retains a nice shine. The movement is snappy and the chronograph functions are operational.
