Description from the seller

Salt silver
Elegant 19th-century silver mustard pot featuring an openwork body with decorative pierced motifs and original blue glass liner.

The cylindrical silver body is finely pierced with stylized foliate scrollwork, allowing the deep cobalt-blue glass insert to show through beautifully, creating a refined contrast between silver and glass. The piece stands on three small ball feet and is fitted with a curved handle and hinged lid topped with a baluster finial.

The interior retains its blue glass liner, typical of 19th-century mustard pots, designed to protect the silver from corrosion.

Details:

Material: Solid silver (to be specified if hallmarked/tested)

Liner: Blue glass (removable)

Period: 19th century

The glass is removable and crafted in thick, richly colored cobalt glass typical of 19th-century tableware.

The interior shows a small chip to the upper rim (visible in photographs), consistent with age and use. This minor imperfection does not affect stability or functionality and remains discreet when the liner is placed inside the silver mount.

Height: 5.5cm

Weight: 50g (only silver)

Good condition
