Description from the seller

Antique naturalist brooch in bi-color gold set with rose-cut diamonds and synthetic rubies of the period – Belle Époque, circa 1895–1910.

Openwork brooch with a botanical motif consisting of scrolls and finely carved leaves.
The setting is made of yellow gold, with gray/white gold elements designed to enhance the brilliance of the diamonds, a technique used in jewellery making at the end of the 19th century.

It is adorned with natural rose-cut diamonds, grain-set, as well as antique calibrated synthetic rubies (corundum produced by the Verneuil process, used in jewelry since the early 20th century).
Note: one ruby is missing.

Original attachment system preserved, with a pin and hook clasp, accompanied by its articulated rear reinforcement that provides a better hold on delicate fabrics (lace, silk, or ribbon), typical of Belle Époque bodice brooches.
Several hallmarks (an eagle's head and the maker's mark visible on the mount)

Condition: visible signs of wear and minor old bumps, some pages torn, mechanical operation in very good condition.

Period: circa 1895–1910
Style: Belle-Époque / naturalist
Material: two-tone gold
Stones: natural rose-cut diamonds, antique synthetic rubies
Technique: grain setting, openwork mount

Authentic antique jewel, unaltered.
