Geisha, a 2026 original abstract painting by Sergio Zampieri, executed with oil, acrylic and mixed media on cotton canvas 80 x 60 cm, hand-signed, in excellent condition, sold directly from the artist in Italy.
Description from the seller
Original unpublished artwork created by contemporary painter Sergio Zampieri (Rome, 1968).
The painting was created in two stages using mixed media techniques, oil and acrylic.
In the first phase, for the base subject, only oil colors were used to allow a perfect blending of the shapes, starting from a dark Payne's gray background and proceeding with the addition of lighter shades such as white and gray for the monochromatic rendering of the human face.
After the oils had dried, we proceeded with applying the final decoration using acrylic pastes in iridescent colors: golden yellow, gilt gold, silver, bronze, and pearl white.
The work, with this golden division, indeed evokes the elegance and mystery of geishas, who often conceal their identity behind layers of tradition.
The final effect, as seen in the photographs, is the result of a highly material work in iridescence, with a play of light and shadow that shapes itself depending on the position of the light source.
Excellent red-and-gold color balance, which gives the work great refinement and symbolic intensity.
The work is archived and permanently visible on the artist's official website
