Description from the seller
Title: "Deer skull"
Year: 2026
Technique: Acrylic and quartz-sand plaster, spatulated
Support: Canvas mounted on a wooden frame
Dimensions: 70 x 50 x 4 cm
Unique work, not repeatable and signed on the back by the artist.
The painting will be packed with bubble wrap and shipped in a protective carton, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Description of the work.
Drawn to ancient books on zoology, biology and entomology, I create on canvas a personal naturalist book, whose protagonists are animals and insects together with the shapes of leaves from my homeland, leaving their imprint on the canvas and in the observer’s mind.
This work is handmade using the relief material technique, employing a fine-grain quartz mortar applied with a spatula on cotton or jute canvas. The surface, characterized by a textured, grainy and sturdy feel, generates natural light effects that emphasize the formed shapes, giving the piece strong three-dimensionality.
