Ssick Lab presents il silenzio della cenere, a 2026 limited edition mixed-media artwork with AI, 70 by 50 cm, depicting an interior scene, signed and in excellent condition, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
This work represents a bold fusion between classical iconography and contemporary noir aesthetics. Through a stark chromatic contrast and a provocative narrative, the subject breaks the barrier of the sacred to immerse itself in an urban, melancholic atmosphere.
The image was created through a refined process of digital mixed media, combining generative artificial intelligence with manual interventions in graphic post-production:
Phase 1: Algorithmic Generation (AI)
The visual nucleus was developed using artificial intelligence models trained to interpret painting styles of twentieth-century realism blended with cinematic photography. This phase allowed defining the complex handling of neon lights and the volumetry of the smoke.
Phase 2: Texture and Digital Painting
The artist subsequently intervened with professional graphic software to apply the distinctive halftone pattern (Ben-Day dots) visible on the subject's face and hands. This element evokes Lichtenstein's Pop Art, creating a material separation that transforms the skin into a typographic surface.
Phase 3: Post-production and Color Grading
The chromatic atmosphere was refined through the use of layer masks and selective color correction, emphasizing the warm tones of the drink and lips in contrast with the cold, cerulean shadows of the background.
