Rare limited edition digital mixed-media artwork titled cacciatore tra i ciliegi, created in 2026 by ssick lab, measuring 70 by 50 cm, signed and produced directly by the artist as a 1/1 AI-assisted piece in a popular art style with a mythological theme, on FSC-certified Washed paper, depicting a Yautja-inspired Ukiyo-e warrior in cherry blossom surroundings.
Description from the seller
The work presents a reinterpretation of the Predator (Yautja) immersed in the iconography of Ukiyo-e style (the 'pictures of the floating world'). The figure, charged with ancestral ferocity, is adorned with armor recalling the plates of samurai, while the human skull trophy and the ceremonial spear frame him as a warrior deity or Oni demon of Japanese mythology. The contrast between the subject's violence and the grace of blossoming cherry branches (Sakura) evokes the theme of Mono no aware, the awareness of life's transience.
The work was created through a digital mixed-media process, blending the cutting-edge of artificial intelligence with the precision of manual graphic post-production.
AI Generation: The base structure, the composition of visual weights, and the texture of antique paper were developed using generative AI algorithms. This allowed the alien facial features to fuse with the brushstroke style typical of Edo-period masters.
Graphic Intervention and Digital Painting: Subsequently, the image was refined using graphic tablets and photo-editing software. In this phase, facial details, the definition of calligraphic characters, and edge clean-up were perfected.
Texturing and Layering: To achieve the look of a historic artifact, aging filters, moisture stains, and a specific paper grain were digitally applied, simulating the appearance of Washi paper worn by time.
Finalization: The logo "ssick lab" and the red seals (Hanko) were inserted vectorially to balance the composition and give the work the mark of a contemporary limited edition.
