These glasses are made of alexandrite crystal, designed by Sergio Asti for Arnolfo di Cambio in the 1960s and 1970s.
Alexandrite glass is known for changing color, shifting from lilac/purple in natural light to blue under artificial light or neon.
They are described as cylindrical amaro or liqueur glasses with a characteristic bubble.
The design is considered striking and changes appearance depending on the light source. Production: Handmade in Italy, these pieces are regarded as iconic examples of modernist and brutalist design from the Space Age period. They are called Chameleon.
