Carmen Morillo is a Spanish visual artist, trained in Fine Arts at the University of Seville. Her career centers mainly on painting, with a solid grounding in realism and figuration, complemented by independent research on gesture, materiality, and the representation of the human figure. She has expanded her training through specialized courses in drawing, realism, and pictorial figuration at institutions such as Museo Casa Ibáñez (Almería) and the University of Seville.
Her work has been recognized with several national painting awards, including the National Painting Prize José Arpa and the Second Prize in the National Painting Competition “Ocaña,” as well as with a residency grant in Paisaje Altea (Alicante). Simultaneously, she has developed mural art projects in public spaces, also receiving local recognitions in this field.
For several years she has balanced her artistic practice with teaching in plastic arts, experience that has helped consolidate her technical mastery and her reflection on painting processes. Currently, she has decided to pause teaching to focus on studio painting, pursuing a sustained personal production oriented toward original works and exhibition formats.
