The dragons - These are imperial symbols of power, wisdom, and divine protection. The two dragons gazing at each other often represent harmony and balance (yin-yang). Their dynamic stance with their heads held high shows vitality and spiritual energy.
The blazing pearl - This is the 'wish-granting pearl' or 'pearl of wisdom' (龍珠, longzhu). In Chinese mythology dragons hunt for this mystical pearl that symbolizes enlightenment, spiritual completion, and cosmic power. The pearl between two dragons stands for the pursuit of spiritual perfection.
The qilin-handvatten - The side handles depict qilin (mythical beings), symbols of prosperity, serenity and the appearance of wise leaders.
The lion paws - The four legs provide stability and protection, while lions ward off evil spirits.
Function - This ding (鼎, ritual burner) was used for incense in ancestor worship, temple ceremonies, or in scholarly studies. The smoke symbolizes prayers rising to heaven.
The incense burner is in good used condition with signs of aging. (See photos)
