Yves Offret (1946–2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of a pictorial research attentive to landscapes, changing light, and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work attracted the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into sensitive evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work, which bears witness to an artist’s attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of daily life.
