Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking that same year among the top ten sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive two-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at the age of 7 with collages, prompted by his encounter with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami – Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze 1.80 m cryptogram and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. The artists interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St. Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St. Regis edition One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square, NY City, projection on the Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”
- American Film Festival awards presented to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas…

2021:
- New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.

2018:

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating trophies for the Deauville American Film Festival.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall “One Dollar,” fully bronze, was exhibited at Art Paris.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First time in Spain at the Atrium Gallery in Marbella, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the city mayor, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This piece comprises a Maserati covered with white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt.

2014:
- Maserati presents worldwide the Maserati Ghibli redesigned by Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary.

2013:
- Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl donated to the city of Deauville a Crytogram One sculpture in bronze, permanently at the city entrance.
- For the 65th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” made from a collage of photos tracing the festival’s history.
