Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his sculptures One Dollar, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 years old according to Artprice that same year. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists inspired by classic American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, during the Art Paris Art Fair, the French President warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, spurred by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He then turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavilion of Baths, on Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami - Collective exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival, for which the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. The artists interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St Regis edition One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square, projection on Nasdaq screen of the artwork “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”

2021:

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating the Deauville American Film Festival trophies.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-high One Dollar, fully cast in bronze, was exhibited at the Art Paris fair.
- The French President visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First show in Spain at Marbella’s Atrium gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the city mayor, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several sculptures depicting one-dollar bills are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt

2014:
- Maserati presents worldwide the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador in France hosted a dinner in his presence, around the artist’s works.

- Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl donated to the city of Deauville a bronze Crytogram One sculpture, which remains permanently at the city entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” made from a collage of photos outlining the festival’s key moments.
