Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, rose to prominence in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 according to Artprice that same year. In 2012, the New York publication Far–ahem designates him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its work FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the French president warmly congratulated Karl for his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, shown at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, spurred by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He then turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025: - Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024: - Art Miami - Collective exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; on this occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture that was installed at the CID. Interviewed artists about the artist and receiving the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023: - Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special edition St Regis One Dollar.

2022: - New York: Times Square, NY City, projection on the Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”
- Presentation of American Film Festival trophies to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas…

2021: - New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.
- Finalization of the sculpture “Ascension of Christ” after several years of work.
- Casting at Fonderia Del Chiaro (Italy) Pietrasanta.

2020: - Beginning work on the artist’s largest piece ever created: the One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters.
- Deauville American Film Festival: he creates a new sculpture in collaboration with the town of Deauville, inspired by the barriers of Deauville’s promenade (the planks).

2019: - Deauville American Film Festival: the artist created a new sculpture, representing his dollar engraved in aluminum.

- Several One Dollar sculptures by the artist exhibited inside the Hotel Royal Monceau.

2017: - Karl Lagasse succeeds Cartier in creating the trophies for the Deauville American Film Festival.

2016: - Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-high “One Dollar,” fully bronze, was exhibited at Art Paris.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First in Spain at Marbella’s Atrium gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the mayor, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. A special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati covered in white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures lie on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt

2014: - Maserati presents in the world premiere the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by artist Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador in France organized a dinner in his presence, surrounding the artist’s works.

2013: - Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012: - Karl gifted the city of Deauville a Crytogram One bronze sculpture, permanently at the city entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival anniversary, Karl created a sculpture “Building” made from a collage of photos recounting the festival’s milestones.
