Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his sculptures One Dollar, ranking that same year among the ten best sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, inspired by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami – Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram 1.80 m tall and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Interviewed artists who spoke about the artist and received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar in front of the St. Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St. Regis edition One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square NY City, projection on Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”
- American Film Festival trophies awarded to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas…

2021:
- New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.
- Finalization of the sculpture “Ascension of Christ” after several years of work.

2020:
- Beginning of work on the largest piece ever created by the artist: One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters.

2018:

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in designing the Deauville American Film Festival trophies.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall “One Dollar,” entirely bronze, was exhibited at the Art Paris fair.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First show in Spain at the Atrium Marbella gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, performing pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” The work consists of a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several sculptures depicting one-dollar bills are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt.

2014:
- Maserati presents in world premiere the Maserati Ghibli revisited by artist Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador in France hosted a dinner in his presence, around the artist’s works.

2013:
- Collective exhibition Automobile Club of France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl gifted the city of Deauville a bronze Crytogram One sculpture, permanently at the city entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival anniversary, Karl created a sculpture “Building” composed of a collage of photos retracing the festival’s key moments.
