Description from the seller
Val Saint Lambert - Emerald Green Cased Crystal Vase - 'Jupiter' - 1950s
A magnificent example of Belgian crystal artistry: a heavy, hand-cut lead crystal vase from the world-renowned Val Saint Lambert workshops. This specific model, known as 'Jupiter', was designed during the mid-20th century (circa 1955-1960) and is attributed to the celebrated chief designer René Delvenne.
The vase is a masterpiece of the 'doubled crystal' (cut-to-clear) technique. It features a rich, deep layer of Emerald Green (Vert Émeraude) over a clear core of heavy lead crystal. The architectural design is characterized by its massive, faceted "collar" and a body decorated with intricate diamond cuts (taille diamant) and elegant vertical flutes. The high lead content (33% PbO) provides the vase with an exceptional brilliance and a substantial, luxurious weight.
The vase is in excellent vintage condition, showing only very minor signs of wear on the base consistent with its age. The crystal remains clear, and the colors are vibrant. Please refer to the high-resolution photos for a detailed view.
This precious item will be handled with the utmost care. To ensure it arrives in perfect condition, the vase will be professionally and securely packaged using high-quality protective materials. The shipment will be sent fully insured with a tracking code to the winning bidder, providing total peace of mind.
