Brass compass from Stanley London mass brass 1950/1960
Very beautiful and elegant brass compass of the type "prismatic compass", signed "Stanley London".
This specific model was very often used for navigation and scientific expeditions.
The instrument is equipped with a retractable alidade with a sighting slit, and an integrated reading prism.
It is in very good overall condition, with a beautiful patina on the brass.
It works perfectly and offers a fine example of an old scientific instrument that is both decorative and utilitarian.
