An artist deeply attached to light and landscapes, Christiane Stenfort (born 1940 in Dinan) has established herself as one of the most sensitive voices of contemporary figurative art. Trained in Brittany and then in Morocco, in Nantes, in Reims and finally in Rouen, she developed a pictorial language where drawing discipline, warmth of color, and a rare mastery of matter mingle. Her career was marked by a decisive encounter: with Albert Malet, the last great master of the Rouen School, who encouraged her to affirm her Impressionist temperament.
Her canvases, nourished by travel, shores, and Norman fogs, enchant with their luminous poetry. Whether a bank of the Seine, a Breton port, or a Southern landscape, Stenfort captures the moment with a vibrant sensitivity: a generous stroke, subtle harmonies, an atmosphere always right. Her colorist talent, revealed as early as her stay in Morocco, is today expressed in a palette that is both soft and radiant, capable of turning each scene into pictorial emotion.
A recognized artist, member of the Society of French Artists, she has been rewarded at numerous national and international salons, including the First Prize for Oil Painting at the Salon of Arts and Creation in Marseille. Her works are in private collections in Europe, North America, and Asia, bearing witness to the universal appeal of her work.
Acquiring a Christiane Stenfort work means choosing an authentic, luminous, and profoundly human painting — a work that extends the great Impressionist tradition while affirming a singular artistic personality.
