Diplomático 2005 - Single Vintage - 70cl

Diplomático Single Vintage 2005 is an exceptional limited edition crafted from some of the finest Venezuelan rums distilled in 2005. These spirits were produced using a traditional copper pot still and aged for 12 years in carefully selected casks. The maturation began in ex-bourbon barrels, continued in former single malt whisky casks, and concluded in Oloroso sherry casks, creating remarkable depth and character.

The aroma reveals inviting notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco, ripe fruit, and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with pronounced hints of bittersweet chocolate and oak. The finish is exceptionally smooth, lingering with fruity nuances and a delicate touch of smoky vanilla.

Every drop of this rum reflects the passion infused into its creation. The journey begins with premium sugarcane grown near the Venezuelan town of La Miel, in the heart of Terepaima National Park—a region blessed with a unique climate, nutrient-rich soils, and pure mountain water.

Their craft is shaped not only by technical expertise, but by dedication and genuine passion—this is not simply learned, it is lived. Today, Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA), producer of Ron Diplomático, is represented by two master blenders: Tito Cordero and Nelson Hernández. Nelson began his career in 1986 at Licorerías Unidas (LUSA), now DUSA, initially serving as Maintenance Manager and Project Manager. Over the years, he advanced to senior leadership roles and has become one of the key figures behind the global success of Diplomático rum.
