Claudio Trecci was born in Foligno in 1949
an enthusiast of drawing, from 1972 to 1976 he attended the Pietro Vannucci Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia (under the direction of Maestro Mancini) where he took life drawing, painting, art history and engraving (etching and aquatint) lessons with Maestro Father Diego Donati
in 1974 he took part in the first group exhibition "La Traversa" in Foligno
in the autumn of 1974 and until April 1975, the daily newspaper Il Messaggero invited him to a series of group exhibitions (L'Arte con Noi), on a monthly basis, in Bolsena, Fondi, Amatrice, Ronciglione, Bracciano, Nettuno and Fiuggi
during the exhibitions in Lazio he met the painters Purificato and Ciavatta whose friendship and critiques will influence him
in 1974 he joined the artist group "Arte 74"
in 1975, with sculptor PierLuigi Berti, he exhibited in Assisi and Foligno at Galleria Il Quadrifoglio and in the Sala ex Teatro Piermarini
in 1975/1977 he participated in the small-format exhibition/series organized by the Galleria "Antares" and took part in various events and exhibitions in many Italian municipalities
in 1977 he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence
in 1982 he graduated in architecture and began the freelance architectural profession in Foligno
from 1982 to 1993 he collaborated with architect Franco Antonelli and in 1994 he joined the studio Antonelli e Associati
in 1995 he met Alfred Hohenegger (graphic artist, painter, sculptor, writer and musician) with whom he established, in addition to a deep friendship, a continuous critical dialogue
in 1997 the earthquake between Umbria and Marche, which caused significant damage also to Foligno, forced him to intensify his architectural work commitments
in 1999, during a trip to Havana - Cuba, he came into contact with street artists where he discovered the simplicity of an extraordinary use of colors and with them he exhibited some works along the streets of Havana Vieja
in 2009 he published Habanere, a record of his trip to Cuba
in 2011, after leaving the architectural profession, he retired to a mountain house where he resumed experimenting with new techniques of artistic expression
in 2011/2012 he collaborated with the UNESCO Club of Foligno and Valle del Clitunno contributing to the birth of the prize La fabbrica nel paesaggio
between 2012 and 2015 he frequented the city of Saint Petersburg where he gave three lectures on architecture at the design space of the SMALTA store
in 2016, in continual search for stimuli, he began a new sailing experience traveling across the entire Mediterranean Sea and moving first to live in Greece and then in Tunisia
in 2018, living aboard his boat, he frequented an exhibition space at the Marina in the city of Monastir where he came into contact with young Tunisian artists
between 2017 and 2018 he exhibited some works in Lefkada, Greece and in Monastir, Tunisia
in addition to his professional work he has always pursued his artistic activity, exhibiting his paintings in various shows in Italy, Greece and Tunisia
in June 2020 he published Come stelle nel cielo di notte, a mystery novel in which female intelligence prevails over every form of genius, even criminal
in December 2020 he published Yehudah - history of a painting inspired by a Caravaggio masterpiece "Judith and Holofernes" found in an attic in France and later deemed a fake
in 2021 he published A margine della mia professione di architetto in which he gathers all the articles written for a newspaper where he denounces the inadequacy of administrations in protecting the city
in 2022, he was invited, without accepting, to an exhibition at the Dantebus gallery on Via Margutta in Rome
in 2023 he is among the finalists of the Rosso Passione prize in Villacidro, Sardinia
from 1972 to today, despite the heavy work commitments, travel and publications, he has never neglected his passion for the search of every artistic expression
