Hermès Under the waves silk square scarf, 90 × 90 cm, in very good condition with minor signs of wear, autographed by Alice Shirley.
Description from the seller
Rare and highly sought-after Hermès scarf square - Under the waves - 90 cm - silk
Model: "Under the waves"
Designer: Alice Shirley
This scarf is a homage to the Great Barrier Reef, the largest coral reef on the planet, located off Queensland, Australia. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is the largest living structure in the world and hosts fascinating wildlife. Around the corals, a true animal sculpture, a multitude of marine species gather. An endless ballet of shapes and colors. The leather-shelled turtle swims toward Milman Islet, a small island at the far north of Queensland, to lay its eggs; the leaf seahorse hides among seaweed; the mandarinfish busies itself in search of plankton… The existence of each species depends on the fragile balance of this ecosystem.
Issued in 2016.
Sought after by collectors.
In 100% silk
Dominant colors: red, pink, fuchsia, black...
Even rarer in this colorway!
Feature: rolled edges in a color different from that of the scarf’s border
In very good condition: rolled edges nicely puffy, no pulled threads, no hole, just three tiny white specks on the seaweed but very discreet... it looks like part of the decor.
Dimensions 90 x 90 cm
