Description:
An enchanting eighteenth-century edition of the famous biographies of Cornelio Nipote, printed in Milan at the prestigious Typography of the Ambrosiana Library in 1748. The volume stands out for a refined period binding in full marbled morocco, decorated with gilded frames on the boards. At the center of both boards is the Christological monogram "IHS" surmounted by a cross and with the three nails of the Passion, emblematic of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Probably a school prize copy from a college of the order.
