Description from the seller
A beautiful, large and very rare savonette pocket watch with .800 silver case and Niello (Tula silver) inlays all over the case in very good condition, signed NOMOS GLASHÜTTE on case, movement and dial. The original “Nomos Watch Company, Guido Müller & Co, Glashütte i/S” was active only from 1906 to 1910 and is the predecessor of today’s NOMOS brand in Glashütte, which was re-established in 1991.
Diameter (without Pendant): 53,0 mm
Weight: 95,2 g; Height: 13,0 mm
Attached to the watch (part of the lot) is a period-appropriate silver and niello watch fob in superb condition, 11 cm in length, weight 6,1 g. Silver parts are hallmarked, round chain links are gold-plated. Together with the watch, it makes a wonderful ensemble!
Watch case is signed “NOMOS GLASHÜTTE i/S (in Sachsen)” and “NEUES SYSTEM GLASHÜTTE” on the dust cover and is hallmarked with the Swiss grouse hallmark (0.800 Silver, 1880-1933) on the side of the watch case, on the inside of the dust cover and on the pendant. In addition, all case covers are stamped “Niel HF” indicating the maker of the niello decoration, “Huguenin Frères” in Le Locle. Niello inlay in excellent condition on the front, back, and side of the watch case, as well as on the pendant and bow; see photos.
Lovely and immaculate white enamel dial signed ““NOMOS Nomos-Uhr-Gesellschaft, Guido Müller & Co, Glashütte i/S“” with Arabic numerals. No cracks or hair-cracks, no chips beside a micro- chip on the side between 5 and 6, virtually invisible when the glass cover is closed. Original gold-colored hands in perfect condition, crystal without scratches.
Fine movement with 16 jewels, including 4 in screwed gold chatons, screw balance and swan-neck fine regulation. If wound, the movement runs well with a good, clearly visible amplitude, however the service history is unknown. The movement runs with good accuracy with a negative deviation of approx. 1 minute per day in “face up” position, and a huge power reserve of approx. 39 hours (!).
Fast and reliable shipping via DHL EXPRESS WITH INSURANCE and TRACKING (Turkey: Austrian Post Registered, insured & tracked). Pictures are part of the description, customs duties and additional expenses for shipping outside the EU (European Union) shall be borne by the buyer.
