Description from the seller
MiLo – “Shadow Garden”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
Shadow Garden suggests a botanical presence without settling into literal depiction. Dark, bloom-like forms surface through a layered field of pale tones, scratches, and scattered gestures, creating a space where structure and atmosphere quietly interact.
The composition moves between concealment and emergence. Organic silhouettes appear to hover within the surface, while drips, splashes, and etched marks preserve the immediacy of the artist’s process.
Balancing softness and intensity, the painting evokes the sensation of forms perceived through shifting light — a garden not observed directly, but remembered, sensed, or half-seen.
