Ad Snijders was a Dutch painter, draftsman, collagist and sculptor. He joined, as one of the youngest members, in 1947 to Kunstkring de Kempen. Noted by the French government, he received a grant from them and studied in 1961 and 1962 at the prestigious Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris.
In 1949 he held his first exhibition under press scrutiny. Ad Snijders was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK). His work can be found in museum and private collections. His work has been seen in leading museums such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Fodor Museum, and the Jan Cunen Museum in Oss.
In 1959 he exhibited, among others, at Galerie Taurus in Nijmegen together with artists Armando and Kees van Bohemen. A year later his work was selected for Premio Marzotto in Valdagno, Italy. Here he exhibited alongside, among others, Corneille and Lucebert.
In 1984 he opened his own gallery named Thornfield, where he held an exhibition six times a year. From his studio he offered young artists a place to show their work.
