With this dreamlike work, Medsan signs an improbable and poetic encounter between the world of wizards and the serenity of Japanese prints from the Shin-hanga movement. This wintry composition transports the legendary Hogwarts Express and its magical companions into a rural Japanese landscape from the early 20th century, evoking Kawase Hasui's atmospheric mastery.

The scene is stunningly beautiful: the scarlet locomotive crosses a traditional stone bridge, spewing a plume of smoke that blends into a night sky with bokashi gradients (indigo toward violet) of great finesse. In the air, the blue Ford Anglia famed for surreal touch, while in the foreground, Hedwig the white owl glides gracefully over a frozen river.
The contrast is carefully worked out: the warmth of yellow lights emanating from the train windows and from thatched-roof houses opposes the cold calm of the falling snow. The texture of the aged paper and the cartouche signed "Medosan" (bottom left) complete this illusion of a period print rediscovered.
