THE FISHES OF THE UNIVERSITY
This work is part of a series made years ago about fish in ponds; in this case, it features the fish from the pond in the gardens of the University that are right behind my house.
This piece is three-dimensional, has a thickness of 8 cm, and can therefore be placed on a shelf or hung; it is painted on the sides and varnished.
Nature in general, water and its inhabitants in particular, are, for me, a great source of inspiration.
The red fish I paint float lightly with their sinuous, elegant movements. The fish, as a universal archetypal element, as a link between the various worlds, as an expression of the flow of life. Quick and fleeting like clouds and thoughts, they embody the delicate balance between serenity and vital impulse. I am interested in the boundary between the real world and the surreal world of my ever-transforming aquatic landscapes.

Born in Italy, on the island of Sardinia, in 1963, after stints in New York to study graphic design and later in Milan, I moved to Barcelona in 1991 to work as a graphic designer and here I began my artistic career which over time has become my profession, my passion, and above all a vital necessity.
I have held solo and group exhibitions in several European cities and my works are in various private collections around the world.
My work is deeply rooted in nature and human emotions; my star theme is water and fish, two visual universes that share symbolic intensity. The fascination with the fluidity and dynamism of water acts as the through-line of my creations and symbolizes constant transformation.
The fish represent the flow of life and emotions and embody the delicate balance between serenity and vital impulse.
