Biografia di Pompeo Mariani
Mariani Pompeo (Monza, September 9, 1857 – Bordighera, January 25, 1927).

He was born in Monza on September 9, 1857, son of Martino Mariani and Giulia Bianchi in a house in Borgo Como, near the church of San Biagio. The mother Giulia, daughter of the painter Giosuè Bianchi, was sister of the better known Mosè. The young Pompeo completed his gymnasium studies in Monza and was directed toward a banking career in Milan where he was introduced into the cultural circles of the time, Cova and La Scala. He met Gaetano Braga, Arrigo Boito, Luigi Conconi and Vespasiano Bignami. He devoted himself to music and drew caricatures.

In 1923 he exhibited in Milan a large show of his paintings from various periods. He died in Bordighera on January 25, 1927 and was buried in the Monza cemetery
