DANZA DI FORME by GABRIOLI, a 2025 unique original artwork in mixed media, signed and sold with frame, measuring 34 cm high by 43.5 cm wide by 3.5 cm deep, Italy, Contemporary style, with Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
GABRIOLI is an Italian emerging artist who reinterprets the great Renaissance and medieval painting tradition through a contemporary language. Her research focuses on classical techniques — oil pigments, lacquers, egg tempera, and precious metal leaf in gold and silver — used to create works rich in visual depth and refined details.
The panel reintroduces a decorative motif typical of the backgrounds of altarpieces from the mid-15th century, transforming a historical detail into a contemporary furniture piece with timeless charm.
The gold leaf on the background acts as a luminous mirror, changing the appearance of the painting depending on the incidence of natural or artificial light. The geometric patterns are hand-modelled with the stucco bas-relief technique: this three-dimensional relief gives the work a unique tactility, while the red purple and forest green colors have been worked following the ancient method used in Italian Renaissance art studios for a dense and deep chromatic effect.
This work is perfect for those who desire an object that combines art history and design. The compact dimensions and the minimalist frame make it ideal both as a standalone piece and when placed in a collection of material works. It is a craft that does not merely decorate, but "illuminates" the surrounding space.
