Description from the seller
Beautiful, powerful work by Bob Immink.
Petrus Theodorus Immink was a painter, graphic artist, screen printer and watercolorist. At 37 he moved to the Zaan region. That North Holland landscape was captured by him many times. But it did not stop with the Zaans-Waterland landscape. He traveled a lot and made sketches and paintings of landscapes everywhere: Greek temples, American mountain landscapes, deserts, abandoned villages in the Spanish plains, nudes, interiors and pub and sports scenes. Also notable are the works with a magical-realist touch.
P.A. van Wigcheren, art critic of the Nieuwe Noordhollandse Courant, about Immink: “A driven artist, who in his work – painting, watercoloring, silkscreen printing and making collages – strives to bring the landscape back to its essence. A master of omission, I have called Immink, indicating that in his work he eliminates various details and only presents the main elements in powerful planes, without the recognizability of the landscapes he captured disappearing. In all works a strong drive of the artist shines through. In terms of color often quite spare, also reduced to the most necessary, but sometimes also very explosive, never intrusive or harsh.”
Painting in excellent condition. Frame shows light signs of use.
Note: The painting will not be sold to the USA due to government measures.
