Born in 1902, Fred Pailhès began drawing at a very young age. He is known for his paintings, drawings and studies of port landscapes and seashores, notably Le Havre, Marseille and Cannes. He is also renowned for his portraits of ordinary people, both wanderers and patrons of the taverns he frequented. He will draw and paint until his death in 1991.
