Description
A atmospheric oil painting depicting a lively scene from a Mediterranean-looking village. In a sunlit courtyard, surrounded by white-plastered buildings with red-tiled roofs, several market vendors and pack animals are depicted. Under the bright blue sky, the warmth and tranquility of village life are beautifully expressed. The artist has used a recognizable loose, impressionistic brushwork with visible strokes and a rich color build-up.
Central in the composition are figures surrounded by baskets and pots filled with vegetables and other goods. On the right side stands a pack animal with gear, accompanied by a person. The light and shadows give a special depth and atmosphere to the whole.
