Juan Soler began his studies at the School of Arts and Trades and later entered Fine Arts. He painted for several years as a copyist at the Prado Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Casón del Buen Retiro, as well as in the studios of great masters of painting such as the great master Sotomayor; it was with him that he learned the most during his tenure as Director of the Prado Museum, hence the affinity in his painting and why, according to critics, he is regarded as his best pupil.
Juan Soler’s painting is renowned worldwide, and it is precisely abroad where he has held the most exhibitions.
