Metrovia by Krass Clement, signed, first edition Danish hardback (188 pages) published by Gyldendal in Copenhagen in 2021, in as new condition.
Description from the seller
GREAT BOOK about Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, by legendary Danish photographer Krass Clement -
in BRANDNEW CONDITION + SIGNED BY THE ARTIST.
I GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE SIGNATURE.
Krass Clement is known for masterpieces like 'Drum' (1996), 'Berlin Notat' (2003) and 'Novemberrejse' (2008).
Metrovia by Krass Clement is not a traditional portrait of Buenos Aires. Instead of capturing the city through its landmarks or architecture, the book explores the atmosphere of the place — a blend of observation and personal interpretation.
Through recurring scenes in the city’s underground system, Metrovia, and other locations like tango bars and a closed carousel, Clement evokes a sense of stillness and dislocation. The familiar European influence gives the city a strange recognizability, yet it remains distant and elusive.
As themes repeat and dissolve, the concrete gives way to the abstract — reflecting a society under subtle but intense pressure, where we remain outsiders in the anonymous flow of urban life.
New, mint, unread.
Still originally shrink-wrapped in publisher's plastic foil; only opened once for signature.

Krass Clement's work has a unique style that combines solid technology and free expressiveness, the balance between classic and modern is exquisite.
Krass Clement is one of the most important Danish photographers. He has fans all over the world. Most of his books, especially the old ones, are strongly limited and very sought-after.
From the photographer's website:
"Clement's photographic work emerges from two traditions: The Scandinavian melancholy on the one hand and the 'flaneur' tradition from the Parisian school on the other. In his photography Krass is more concerned with capturing a state of mind than with situations. They are less documentary depictions than subjective moods somewhere between spectator and reality. Insisting on an artistic integrity, Krass Clement has created a strong personal body of work with the photobook as his favourite medium".
Gyldendal, Copenhagen. 2021. First edition, first printing.
Hardcover in half linen (as issued). 225 x 270 mm. 188 pages. Photos: Krass Clement. Text in Danish.
Great Krass Clement title in perfect condition - signed, dated and located by the artist: "Krass Clement. 15.11.2025. Paris"
Krass Clement, born in 1946, trained as a film director, but since his photographic debut "Shadows of Moments" (1978), he has been one of Denmark’s most prominent documentary photographers. He is particularly known for his quiet travel narratives from both Denmark and abroad, with a focus on the human condition.
His tightly composed, classically styled black-and-white images — and later also colour photographs - are marked by a sense of melancholy and an eye for surreal details. He has published a large number of photo books, mostly sold-out (quickly) and very sought-after. Including "Byen bag regnen" (about "Copenhagen", 1987), "Ved døden" (1990), "Af en bys breve" (about "Lisbon", 1993), "Langs Vinden" (1998), "Berlin notat" (2005), "Novemberreijse" (2008) and, of course, "Drum" (1996).
Krass Clement has published 28 (!) books.
