Description from the seller

A vase from the Traumland series, a design by W. Mutze - of enormous size.

White porcelain covered with multicolored (brown and gold tones) enamel decoration executed in the mazerunku technique, on which unusual plant motifs are placed.

Vases from the Traumland series are beautifully gilded; the color scheme (flowers in delicate colors, against a brown decorative background) is stunning.

Each vase in this series is hand-painted; the bottom bears a signature with the series name, the designer, and the mark of hand painting.

Walter Mutze – (1893-1963) was a distinguished porcelain decorator.
He collaborated with Rosenthal from 1913 to 1961, where he rose to the position of Chief Master in the Art Department (Kunstabteilung).
His works decorated with the technique he patented himself continue to enjoy enduring popularity among collectors worldwide.
